Description
Still Spirits Fast Turbo Yeast
Express is the fastest Turbo on the planet, fermenting out 6kg of sugar in less than 24 hours and producing very good distillate quality. It is important that the water start temperature is correct and only 6kg of sugar is used to get maximum speed. We recommend you use Turbo Carbon as it will significantly improve the performance of Express Turbo.
WHEN IS IT BEST TO USE THIS YEAST?
Use this yeast if you need alcohol quickly, as this yeast is designed to produce a spirit wash as quickly as possible with a lower alcohol content. The best still to make use of this yeast is a reflux type still, like the T500 or the Air Still Pro, but you can also use the standard Air Still type stills.
HOW MUCH SUGAR TO ADD
You need 6Kg sugar to ferment this yeast. You can either use standard sugar or Brewing Sugar, but the results will be slightly different. Standard sugar produces a spirit wash of 13.5% abv, whereas Brewing Sugar produces a wash at approximately 12.5% abv.
Directions
- Add 21 litres of water at 40C (104F) in the fermenter
- Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
- Place in a warm room with an air temperature between 20-30C (68-86F) to ferment.
- Fermentation time will be between 22 hours (30C/86F) to 24 hours (20C/68F)
Extras
Turbo Carbon will enhance the final quality of alcohol produced. This is added at the same time as the yeast.
